Physical Activity Policies & School Health Advisory Council

Panhandle ISD has a local policy concerning the wellness of our students and staff.  These Policies may be viewed by going to our policy online.
  • Use the following steps to search the Panhandle ISD Board Policy Online Manual
  • Click on Departments/Board of Trustees/Board & Acceptible Use Policies/Policy Manual
  • Enter Word or Phrase "wellness: under search all policies
District policies (see EHAB and EHAC ensure that elementary school and middle school students engage in at least 30 minutes per school day or 135 minutes per school week of physical activity.
  • Student Welfare (see FFA):  Wellness and Health Services
Current campus physical activities:
  • Panhandle Elementary provides daily 30 minutes of physical activity through recess, music or P.E. class.
  • Panhandle Jr. High provides daily 45 minutes of physical activity through Band, or P.E. class.
Parents my request in writing their child's physical fitness assessment results at the end of the school year.
 
 
The district's SHAC (School Health Advisory Council) meets
 
District policies to ensure compliance with applicable vending machine and food service guidelines for restricting student access to vending machines. (See BDF)
 
District policies and procedures that prescribe penalities for the use of tobacco products by students and others on school campuses or at school sponsored or school-related activities.
